What this document records
The printed header verbatim
"Record of Deaths, Probate Court, in and for Wyandot County, State of Ohio, 18__" — printed page 19 at the top right of the right-hand leaf. Columns, left leaf: Date of Record · No. · NAME IN FULL · Age · SEX (Male or Female) · COLOR (White or Colored) · Condition (Single, married, or widowed) · Occupation · DISEASE · Direct or indirect cause of death · DATE OF DEATH (Year / Month / Day). Columns, right leaf: PLACE OF DEATH (State / County / City or Town) · PLACE OF BIRTH (State / County / City or Town) · LAST PLACE OF RESIDENCE (State / County / City or Town) · NAMES OF PARENTS (When infant without name) (Father / Mother). One numbered "page" spans the whole two-leaf opening — the columns run continuously across it — which is why image 228 carries a single page number, 19.
The page as a whole
Forty-six entries, nos. 803–848, every one carrying the date of record "May 21 1874" (written in full on the first row, dittoed thereafter). The deaths themselves fall in 1873 and 1874. This is a single annual return entered by the probate clerk in one sitting.
The albert cooper entry verbatim

Neighbouring rows, for the ditto chain and for the record: 842 Frederick Delaplaine, age 79, 10, 9, M, W, "Old age", d. 1873 Jan 8, b. Maryland, Fred[erick]; and 844 Infants, age 1, S, "Unknown", d. 1873 July 7, b. Tymochtee — whose parents columns DO carry names, Peter Bennis[?] and Emma Benning[?].
What this record does not give
It does not name Albert Cooper's parents. Both parent columns are blank, confirmed by a 6× crop. This is the form working as designed, not a clerical omission: the printed rubric reads "NAMES OF PARENTS (When infant without name)", i.e. the column existed to identify unnamed infants, and on this page it is filled only for row 844 "Infants". Across every opening of this register examined on 2026-09-21 it is blank on essentially all adult and older-child rows. Consequence worth recording: the standing hope that an Ohio county death register of this era "commonly carries a parents column" is true of the column's existence and false of its usefulness for anyone but an unnamed infant. See Samuel Cooper.
The derived birth date
DERIVED, NOT READ. 15, 9, 8 before a death of Oct 12[?] 1873 computes to a birth about 4 January 1858. The register states no birth date. The derivation also inherits the unresolved day-of-death digit, so it is recorded on Albert Cooper only as ABT JAN 1858.
