Stillwell, John E., M.D. — Historical and Genealogical Miscellany: Data Relating to the Settlement and Settlers of New York and New Jersey, Vols. I–V (1903–1932). Full Cooper-surname sweep of all 5 volumes (~199 raw hits). HEADLINE NULL: Daniel Cooper Sr of Long Hill + son Benjamin do NOT appear in any volume; the two 'Daniel Cooper' hits are the Long Island / West-Jersey Quaker Spicer son-in-law (m. Sarah Spicer 1695), and 'Long Hill' appears only as the landmark 'Coopers Wind Mill on Long Hill' (Rev-War beacon list). Coopers present = Monmouth (fam.9) + Gloucester (fam.3) + Staten Island + Burlington/Mt Holly + Thomas Cooper of London (p.220) + LI Quaker (fam.1).

Headline result — NO Daniel Cooper Sr of Long Hill in any of the 5 volumes
A complete Cooper-surname sweep (Cooper / Cowper / Couper / Coopere / Coupir / Coper / Kuyper / Cuyper, ~199 raw OCR hits) of all five volumes finds no Daniel Cooper of Long Hill / Morris Co., and no son Benjamin of Long Hill, anywhere. This was verified per-volume (each volume independently NULL for "Daniel Cooper" + Long Hill / Morris / Passaic / Basking Ridge). Two decoys and one genuinely on-target landmark must be recorded so the null is defensible and not re-litigated:
- Decoy "Daniel Cooper" #1 — Long Island Quaker, m. 1695: "Sarah Spi[ce]r, born Feb. 16, 1677; married, in 1695, D[ani]el Cooper. Records of Newtown Meeting." (Vol 4, l.19327). Newtown/Gravesend LI Quaker provenance. Cannot be our Daniel Sr — who was himself born ~1695 and could not be marrying that year. = the fam.1 / West-Jersey-Quaker "Daniel Cooper × Sarah Spicer" line.
- Decoy "Daniel Cooper" #2 — same couple, Spicer probate: Will of Hester Spicer, 27 July 1702, names grandson "Samuel son of my daughter Sarah, the wife of Daniel Cooper"; executor "son-in-law Cooper" (Vol 5, l.8016). Same Daniel-Cooper-×-Sarah-Spicer couple (Oyster Bay LI / West Jersey Spicer family). Not our line.
- The one on-target hit — the Cooper Windmill on Long Hill (a landmark, not a named person): in a Revolutionary-War militia beacon/alarm-signal list, "No. 11 — at Coopers Wind Mill on long Hill at Corns [Cornelius] Ludlows" (Vol 3, l.21987). This is Daniel Sr's family-seat windmill on Long Hill (cf. p.1 to-do: the Erskine 1777–78 maps showing "Cooper's Windmill" at 1434 Long Hill Rd). A primary-source attestation that the Cooper windmill on Long Hill was a recognized landmark used as a beacon station ~1777–80, beside Cornelius Ludlow's. The sole genuinely Daniel-Sr-relevant item in the entire 5-volume set — and it names no Cooper person, only the windmill.

Note on Christ Church Shrewsbury coverage: the parish-register baptisms reproduced here run ~1733 onward (the section header reads "Baptisms 1746"; entries are 1745–47) — postdating Daniel Sr's ~1695–1730 window, confirming the earlier assessment that Christ Church Shrewsbury cannot hold his baptism.
