Children of 1224231 Ogden Ross and Lydia Ludlow: 12242311.— Mary Ross, b. Nov. 20, 1804; m. April 23, 1823, Joseph H. Gaston. He d. at Cincinnati, July 3, 1826. She d. at Cincinnati, Sept. 8, 1826, leaving one son, John Ross Gaston. 12242312.— Martha Catharine Ross, b. January 16, 1807; d. April 6, 1892; m. at Cincinnati, June 15, 1829, William Bigham, who was b. April 12, 1802, and d. Jan. 27, 1853. Their children were Lydia Jane, John Ross, Caroline Andrew, James Denman, William Ross, Darwin Ludlow and George E. 12242313.— Caroline Ludlow Ross, b. Feb. 14, 1809; d. Oct. 28, 1894; m. at Cincinnati, Sept. 30, 1829, Lewis Chamberlain Andrew, who was b. Jan. 13, 1808; d. Oct. 22, 1884, leaving one son, John L. Andrew. He was a brother of James and William Piatt Andrew. 12242314.— Sarah Lyon Ross, b. Feb. 12, 1812; d. Nov. 3, 1892; m. Oct. 22, 1845, James Andrew, still living at the age of 96, at Laporte, Indiana. 12242315.— John Ludlow Ross, b. at Cincinnati, Dec. 23, 1813; d. Dec. 4, 1884, at Cambridge, Mass.; m. 1848, Frances Waldo of Boston. Only one son living, Denman W. Ross. 12242316.— Charlotte Ross, b. Nov. 22, 1816, at Cincinnati; m. April 9, 1844, John T. Nathurst. Their children are Louise Mary, Francis S., Henry R., Harriet C., and Kate J. Nathurst.

Maps to catalog: Mary Gaston [p.1011], Martha Catharine Bigham [p.1010], Caroline Andrew [p.1005], Sarah Lyon Andrew [p.1009], John Ludlow Ross [p.1004] (m. Frances Waldo — corrects L.4's "Waldron"; their son Denman W. Ross = the grandson, distinct from Lydia's own son Matthias Denman Ross [p.1007]), Charlotte Nathurst [p.1008] (corrects L.4's "Mathews"). This excerpt shows 6 children (numbered 12242311–16) and is cut off after Charlotte — it does NOT include Matthias Denman [p.1007] (b.1819) or Jane [p.1002] (b.1823), both confirmed by FaG [G.260]; so Halsey here is partial, not a full child-list. Martha Catharine's death = Halsey "April 6, 1892" vs FaG/DAR 1889 — flag.

James Kemper Hurin [p.979] (son of our Agnes (Ludlow) Hurin [p.884]) married, as his 3rd wife, Cynthia Abigail Halsey (b. 16 Jul 1818; Halsey #1224438) — a Halsey descendant, which is why the Hurins are in this book. The PDF enumerates James K. Hurin's children by Cynthia Halsey (book pp. ~275, 436–437): Ella Maria (b.1848), James Halsey, Frank Wilson (b.1853), Sarah Agnes (m. Charles S. Fay), Silas Everett (b.1858), Alice (m. 1880 Reuben Tyler) — and their grandchildren (Tyler + Fay, pp. 520–521). ⇒ a fuller gen-6/7/8 source than Kinsey [I.167a] for the [p.979] line. Halsey-Cranes (Phebe Halsey × Benjamin Crane of Westfield NJ, book p. 149) — unrelated to our Cooper-Cranes (Mary (Cooper) Crane [p.732] / Israel Cooper Crane [p.860]). Disambiguation trap. - "Wyckoff" (5 pp.) — NOT ours. Halsey-Wyckoffs (Nancy Halsey × Joshua Wyckoff, book p. 292) — unrelated to our Theodosia (Cooper) Wyckoff [p.665]. - "Cooper" (28 pp.) / "Ludlow" (21 pp.) hits are Ross/Hurin context + common-name noise; "Pendery / Patton / Annin / Runyon / Coriell" = 0 (not in this book).

So two independent Halsey marriages reach into our tree: Mary Halsey → Ogden Ross (Ross children) and Cynthia Abigail Halsey → James Kemper Hurin (Hurin children).
