Transcription and notes
Lineage Book : NSDAR : Volume 116 : 1915, national No. 115705. Ancestry "North America, Family Histories, 1500–2000." Maintainer screenshot 2026-06-26. Descent from Lt. Col. Cornelius Ludlow via the Ross branch (Martha Catherine Ross [p.1010] → William Bigham).
Data from the document:
MRS. ALICE BIGHAM SEARING. Born in Redwood Falls, Minn. Wife of E. Fraser Searing. Descendant of Lieut. Col. Cornelius Ludlow, as follows: 1. Darwin L. Bigham (b. 1843) m. 1867 Anna S. Bigham (b. 1842). 2. William Bigham (1802–53) m. 2nd 1829 Martha Ross (1807–89). 3. Ogden Ross (1771–1869) m. 1802 Lydia Ludlow (1780–1826). 4. John Ludlow m. 1st 1772 Catherine Cooper (cousins). 5. Cornelius Ludlow m. Catherine Cooper (b. 1728). "Cornelius Ludlow (1729–1812) was commissioned major, 1776, of Morris County militia and subsequently served as lieutenant colonel. He was at the battles of Three Rivers, Long Island and Germantown. He was born at New Providence; died at Long Hill, N. J." Also No. 107526.
Note (not on the document): independent confirmation of the keystone Ross marriage — Ogden Ross (1771–1869) m. 1802 Lydia Ludlow (1780–1826) [p.882] — and of Martha (Ross) Bigham (1807–89) [p.1010] m. 1829 William Bigham (1802–53) (DAR has Martha as Bigham's 2nd wife). Same Cornelius→John→Lydia chain as the Hurin-line DAR [I.168] and the Searing SAR [B.73]. (DAR death "1889" for Martha vs Halsey [I.169] "1892" — the FaG-matching 1889 is preferred.)
