Section structure
The 1793 county-wide freeholders list is dated "Morris Town Jany 17, 1793" and is organized township by township. Each township heading is centered; under each heading, individual freeholders are listed (alphabetical or near-alphabetical) in three columns of ~30 names per column. The township sequence is: Morris → (continued) → Mendham → Hanover → Roxbury (other townships present in source but not on disk: Pequanock, Chatham, etc.).

MORRIS COUNTY FREEHOLDERS 1793 / Morris Town Jany 17, 1793

Cooper data (verbatim, four entries — middle column):
- Jno Cooper (= John Cooper)
- William Cooper
- Geo. Cooper (= George Cooper)
- Peter Cooper
Significance — four Coopers + Elias Coriell in same alphabetical column:
The four Cooper men were principal freeholders of Morris Township in January 1793. The four Coopers cluster together in the alphabetical sequence, suggesting they may have been listed by a clerk who knew them as kinsmen, or that they were entered into the freeholder roll at adjacent dates. Alphabetical position fits standard "Cooper" placement (after "Condict" and "Caldwell"; before "Crowell").
Elias Coriell appears 7 names below the Cooper-cluster in same column — providing primary-source attestation that the Coriell and Cooper families were co-resident in Morris Township as principal freeholders in January 1793. This corroborates A.8 where Elias Coriell is documented as Daniel Sr's 1791 will executor — geographic adjacency in 1793 freeholder roll = primary-source social-network corroboration of Cooper-Coriell tie per project pr.16 Cooper-Coriell Y-DNA mystery.md.
Other relevant context names: Silas Condict Junr (also middle column) — Silas Condict was a major Morris Twp landholder; Inl Canfield + Dr. Jabez Canfield are Hanover-affiliated names per Crayon's general taxonomy but appear in Morris-Twp roll here, suggesting they had Morris-Twp landholdings.

Cooper data:
- Charles Cooper — Mendham Twp 1793 freeholder
- Henry Cooper Junr — Mendham Twp 1793 freeholder
Significance: Mendham Twp is south-southeast of Morris Twp and west of Hanover Twp. The Mendham Cooper subgroup (Charles + Henry Jr) is distinct from both the Morris-Twp 4-name cluster and the Hanover-Twp 4-name cluster. Per Crayon I.28a, no Mendham Coopers are described as part of either the John-Cooper-of-Denville (Hanover) line or the Daniel-Sr (Long Hill) line. Mendham Coopers are a third Morris-County Cooper subgroup, possibly a separate immigrant family. Henry Cooper Junr's "Junr" suffix implies a Henry Sr who is undocumented in Mendham 1793 (perhaps deceased, or not a freeholder).

Crane / David Conger / Ellis Cook / Ebenezer Cooper / Edward Cobb / George Carter / Henry Cook / John Cobb / Joseph Casterline / James Cooper / Jeremiah Carter / Jesse Crane / Ichabod Cooper / Joseph Clark / John Clark / Isaac Canfield / Lemuel Cobb
Cooper data — four entries in Hanover Twp 1793 (verbatim):
- Abm Cooper (= Abraham Cooper)
- Ebenezer Cooper
- James Cooper
- Ichabod Cooper
Significance: This is the canonical Hanover Cooper roster of 1793 — four men. The four Coopers do not cluster contiguously in the page (Abraham appears earlier in the alphabetical sequence, with Ebenezer / James / Ichabod following at intervals interspersed with Crane / Carter / Casterline / Clark / Cobb). All four are presumably the Hanover-line "Holland-origin" Coopers per Crayon I.27/I.28a's claim. This roster is the primary scope-question evidence: four Coopers, all Hanover-resident in 1793, distinct from Morris-Twp's four Coopers (John, William, George, Peter).

Cooper datum: "Nathan Cooper" — single Roxbury Twp 1793 freeholder (per index p200, this is the page-153 attestation, distinct from Nathan Junr p111 + Nathaniel Junr p118 which were 1776 voter listings per I.29d). Per project pr.26 Roxbury Cooper family out-of-scope (RESOLVED).md, Nathan Cooper Sr d. 1788 → so this 1793 freeholder Nathan is presumably Nathan Cooper Junr (Sr's son), now succeeding to the freeholder roll. Confirms continued Roxbury Cooper presence 1776 → 1793.
Cross-section synthesis — 1793 Cooper geographic distribution
| Township (1793 Freeholder roll) | Coopers attested | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Morris Twp | Jno (John), William, Geo. (George), Peter | p143 |
| Mendham Twp | Charles, Henry Junr | p146 |
| Hanover Twp | Abm (Abraham), Ebenezer, James, Ichabod | p148 |
| Roxbury Twp | Nathan | p153 |
Total: 11 Cooper freeholders across 4 townships. This is the canonical primary-source-grade snapshot of Morris-County Cooper geographic distribution in early 1793 — taken just over a year before Benjamin Cooper's death (1794) and 2 years before Daniel Sr's death (1795).
Out-of-scope Coopers per memories:
- Roxbury Nathan = LI-English-colonial Cooper line (project pr.26 Roxbury Cooper family out-of-scope (RESOLVED).md)
- (Mendham Charles + Henry Jr scoping not yet evaluated — possibly out-of-scope or possibly a third sub-line of either Long-Hill or Hanover families)
In-scope candidates per current catalog: - Morris Twp's John, William, George, Peter — primary candidates for Long-Hill / Daniel Sr branch members - Hanover Twp's Abraham, Ebenezer, James, Ichabod — primary candidates for the Hanover / John-Cooper-of-Denville cluster (per Crayon I.28a)
The scope question in todo.md v143 hinges on whether these two clusters are (a) both Holland-immigrant but distinct Cooper families parallel to each other, or (b) related, or (c) the Hanover cluster is part of the LI-satellite ruled out-of-scope. Crayon's I.28a narrative tilts toward (a). This 1793 freeholder roll directly documents the geographic separation.
