Why it matters
- Primary-source-locks [p.666] Cooper Ludlow's SECOND marriage — to Elizabeth Layton, 14 Dec 1813, Champaign Co., OH. CORRECTS the catalog's "m.2 (1815)." (Matches the SAR reading "12/14/1813" in [B.84].)
- Forces the death-year correction on [p.666]. With the Layton marriage at Dec 1813 and the Layton son Abram R. Ludlow [p.1649] born 6 May 1826 (his FaG + the McGinnis Ancestry tree), Cooper Ludlow must have lived well past 1826 — so the catalog's "d. 1822" is wrong; he died 1833 (per the Ancestry tree "Cooper Ludlow 1783–1833" + the SAR). The 1822 rested on [J.173]'s obituary, whose age datum [p.666] already flagged as a misprint.
- ↔ Establishes the Reeder→Layton boundary: Elizabeth Reeder (m. [C.71] 1804) died by Dec 1813; the Layton children (Jason 1816, Silas 1819, Catharine Cooper 1825, Abram 1826, Cornelius 1828, James 1832, etc.) all follow this 1813 marriage.
