Laura Agnes Frost, 'Annin Family, Ca 1672–1964' (U.S. Family History Books) — a compiled Annin genealogy numbering William Cooper Annin's children (Phoebe→Hand 1.2.2.2.2, Daniel 1.2.2.2.7, Joseph W. 1.2.2.2.10). Corroborates the Daniel-Annin branch.

Maintainer-supplied screenshot (2026-07-01) of a page from Laura Agnes Frost, Annin Family, Ca 1672–1964 (Ancestry "U.S., Family History Books"). A compiled family genealogy (medium-high confidence — like Littell [I.4]; dates are the compiler's research). Uses a register-style numbering in which 1.2.2.2 = William Cooper Annin [p.871]; the digits after are his children in birth order. This page shows three of them:
Verbatim — the page
1.2.2.2.2 — Phoebe Miller Annin (1804/7–1887); m. William Roy Hand (1798–1871), s. Aaron and Hannah (Roy) Hand. Children (at least): 1. John Cooper (1827–1909), m. Mary Rittenhouse.
1.2.2.2.7 — Daniel Annin (1812–1886) (Somerset N.J.; buried Liberty Corner cemetery), m. Abigail Parsils (1818–1907), also buried Liberty Corner cemetery, N.J. (m. Abigail Parsils Jan. 5, 1841.) Children: 1. Mary P. (1843–1856) born Liberty Corner; 2. Phoebe M. (1844–1920) [do]; 3. Adaline C. (1846–1906) [do].
1.2.2.2.10 — Joseph W. Annin (1817–?) m.(1) Sarah, 3 Jan 1843 [sic]; "He died 178[4]" [sic]. Sarah (1.2.5.2.3) she dau. William and Sarah (Kirkpatrick) Annin; m.(2) Ann Coriell (no issue). Children: 1. Samuel, no issue; 2. (?).
(Detail panel: Daniel Annin, male, b. 1812, d. Somerset N.J.; spouse Abigail Parsils; children Mary P., Phoebe M., Adaline C. Title "Annin Family, Ca 1672–1964," author Frost, Laura Agnes.)
Corroborations + errors (→ people files)
- Corroborates the Daniel-Annin branch [p.966]: Daniel (1812–1886) × Abigail Parsils (m. 5 Jan 1841) + daughters Mary P. [p.1287], Phoebe M. [p.1288], Adaline C. [p.1289] — matching the marriage record [C.52], FaG [G.288], obituary [J.184], and the 1870/1880 censuses [D.438].
- Corroborates the Hand line (Phoebe → William Roy Hand → John Cooper Hand) already at [p.963]/[G.287].
- Errors in the Joseph-W. entry (census [D.437] is primary and overrides): Frost says "Ann Coriell (no issue)" but the 1860/70/80 censuses show two children by Ann Corielle (Richard Corielle [p.1293] + Julia [p.1291]); "He died 178[4]" is a typo (Joseph d. 1884); "m. Sarah 3 Jan 1843" — the county register [right of C.52] reads Jan 1845 ("James L. English" officiating). ⇒ Frost is a useful skeleton but not reliable on Joseph's 2nd-marriage issue.
- Lead: Frost's numbering ("Ca 1672") implies the compiled Annin tree runs back to a 17th-c. progenitor — consistent with the SAR patriarch William Annin (1715–1784) [M.50] and earlier. A fuller copy of Frost would extend the Annin (non-Cooper) scaffold.
Verbatim — §1.2.2: Samuel Annin × Lydia Cooper's children (2nd page, 2026-07-01)
1.2.2 — Samuel Annin (Nov. 7, 1753 – 16 Apr. 1837) m.(1) July 30, 1776, Lydia (Feb. 8, 1758 – Sept. 30, 1795), d. Daniel and Nancy (Cross) Cooper; (2) May 4, 1803, Martha, d. Robert and Mary Cross. Children (by Lydia Cooper): 1. Anne (Aug. 11, 1777 – May 8, 1878) 2. William Cooper (July 24, 1779 – June 1, 1854) m.(1) Phoebe Miller; (2) Sarah Van Ida. 3. Daniel (Aug. 25, 1781 – ?) m. Jane Robertson. 4. Sarah S. (Nov. 4, 1784 – ?) unm. d. 1862? 5. Joseph S. (Nov. 9, 1790 – ?) m. Ellen Schenck (?) 6. Stephen (Jan. 27, 1795 – 1795.)
This §1.2.2 page delivers the complete Samuel × Lydia sibship (→ [p.222]/[p.235]): - Locks Lydia Cooper (1758–1795) = dau of Daniel [Jr] × Nancy Cross Cooper, m. Samuel 30 Jul 1776; Samuel's 2nd wife Martha (dau Robert & Mary Cross). - Confirms the 3 L.4-filed sons: William Cooper [p.871] (#2), Daniel [p.873] (#3, m. Jane Robertson — corrects L.4's "Roberdean"), Joseph S. [p.872] (#5, m. Ellen Schenck — confirms DAR, corrects L.4's "Van Sinderen"). - Enriches 3 children (already filed from L.4): Anne (1777–?) [p.868] ( death 3-way disputed — L.4 1828 / Frost 1878 / tree "Jane" 1778-infant), Sarah S. (1784–1860/62, unm.) [p.870], Stephen (1795, infant) [p.869]. (Briefly re-created as dups p.1549/1550/1551 on 2026-07-01; merged into the L.4-pass IDs 2026-07-02.) - Next pull: §1.2.2.3 (Daniel's own section) for his ~7 children's roster.
(§1.1.4 "Daniel Annan 1753–1844 × Van Wyck/Allen, mother Mary Huston" — a different Annin cousin line (1.1.x), NOT ours; recorded here only to note the disambiguation.)
Verbatim — additional pages (2026-07-01; book pages saved to Books/Frost - Annin Family - 1959/)
Numbering = register/descent code: 1 = John Annin the immigrant (b. ~1690s Scotland, d. 1759, of Liberty Corner — per the book's narrative history, pp. ~18–40); each dot = one generation; the digits = birth-order. So 1.2 = William Annin (1715–1784), the immigrant's son (builder of the 1766 Liberty Corner stone house), and 1.2.2 = his son Samuel.
Narrative-history section (pp. ~18–40) — useful CONTEXT, not Cooper vitals: documents the Annin founding line our Cooper women married into — John Annin the immigrant (~1690s Scotland → Liberty Corner; bought 271 acres from William Penn's heirs 1744; wife possibly "Elizabeth," d. bef. 1759), and his son William Annin (1715–1784) who built the stone house (50×40 ft, 1766; datestone "W.A." + mason Hugh Sunderland), m.1 Sarah (d. May 1777 of smallpox during the war), m.2 Sarah Davidson. Revolutionary color: Lafayette quartered troops on William's farm; Gen. Charles Lee captured nearby (Widow White's Tavern). ⇒ This is the source-anchor for the William-Annin-1715 patriarch ([p.235]/[p.765]/[name.459]/[M.50]). The 1866 Centennial (the card-catalog lead below) is described here — held at the stone house, host = "William" (Lydia Annin Taylor's brother), 120 guests. (Not transcribed verbatim — married-in Annin context; pull specific pages only if the patriarch line needs more.) An asterisk before a child's number = "line carried forward under its own number"; no asterisk = leaf (not expanded). The physical page order interleaves several top-level branches (1.1.x, 1.2.x, 1.7.x…), so navigate by the number, not the page.
** §1.2 = William Annin (1715–1784) — his 6 children (1.2.1–1.2.6): - 1.2.1 Joseph Annin (1751–1841) · 1.2.2 Samuel (1753) × Lydia Cooper [p.235] — OUR line · 1.2.3 Elizabeth (× Charles Nevill) · 1.2.4 William (1761–1800), Cayuga Co. NY, × Lucretia Cooper (dau of John & Lucretia Boyle Cooper) · 1.2.5 John (1764–1824) = [p.765] (Polly Cooper's husband; wife Elizabeth Van Doren — confirms M.50 over FaG's "Van Winkle") · 1.2.6 Alexander (1766–1844) × Margaret Miller = [name.459]. - ⇒ Samuel [p.235], John [p.765], and Alexander [name.459] are BROTHERS** — so Lydia Cooper and Polly Cooper married two Annin brothers. (Confirms name.459's brother-hypothesis + M.50's William-1715 patriarch.)
§1.2.2.2 — William Cooper Annin [p.871] has THIRTEEN children (not 10): the catalog had 10; Frost adds three (all "bpt" = baptism-sourced, likely died young): #4 Eliza Maria (bpt 5 Nov 1807), #6 William (bpt 1812), #8 John (bpt 11 May 1815) — interleaved among the known 10 (Samuel/Phebe/Jonathan-Dickinson/Lydia/Daniel/Mary-Miller/Joseph-W./Elizabeth-F./Sarah-K./Jennette). (To file: 3 new gen-5 children.)
** Joseph Weld Annin (1819–1899, Le Roy NY) is NOT ours — he's the 1.2.4 line (William of Cayuga NY → son Joseph (1789) m. Melinda WELD**, 1.2.4.2); the "Weld" name is Melinda's. Refutes the [p.873] lead. (The FaG memorials "Joseph Weld Annin" + "Mary Zulemia Annin 1821–1863" belong here, not to our Daniel-1781 branch.)

A title search "annin" also surfaced "Centennial celebration by the Annin family at the old stone house in Somerset County, N.J., August 15, 1866" (Ancestry Stories/Memories/Histories, 17 records) — a separate Annin-family source worth pulling for this Basking Ridge/Liberty Corner Annin milieu.
