Text
We gladly give place to the following obituary notice which we were unable to obtain last week: The death of Mrs. Nettie Cooper, wife of Charles F. Cooper, occured at the home six miles south of Nickerson, May 16, 1908. She was the daughter of Mrs. T. J. Cooper, and born near Hamilton, Mo., November 16, 1867. At the time of her death she was forty years and six months old. She was married to C. F. Cooper, May 20, 1885. Of this union ten children, eight sons and two daughters, were born. Two sons and one daughter preceded her to that better world, and without doubt stood on the farther side of the dark river to welcome their dear mother. Mrs. Cooper was a loving wife and a devoted mother. With her, home and family always came first. She was converted at the age of 16, and lived the life of a devoted christian up to the hour of her death, inviting all at her bedside at the last hour to meet her in heaven. She had been a consistent member of the M. E. church of Nickerson since 1884. The neighborhood of Nickerson had been her home since 1874. She leaves a husband, seven children, a mother, two brothers and three sisters and a host of friends mourning her death. The funeral took place from the M. E. church of Nickerson, Sunday, May 17, Rev. C. E. Wood conducting the religious exercises and preaching a very feeling sermon. A large number of friends and acquaintances of the deceased were in attendance.
