Note
These are INDEX lines. SUPERSEDED IN PART 2026-10-22: ALL THREE DEEDS ARE NOW TRANSCRIBED at [K.134a], from FamilySearch Full-Text machine transcripts saved on the 2026-10-22 trip (the images themselves are still not captured). The 1867 purchase and the 1877 sale describe the same S half SW quarter of section 20, T71 R27. WHAT THE INSTRUMENTS ADDED: the prices (1,300 dollars in 1867, 1,800 in 1877), a 500-dollar mortgage to "Frank and Darrow of Corning" outstanding at the sale, Elizabeth Cooper named and relinquishing dower in her own right in 1877, the Hollands of Polk County, and the places of acknowledgment (Des Moines 1868; Hopeville 1877). AND THE 1888 CAUTION BELOW IS SUPPORTED BY THE INSTRUMENT: the deed writes "Joseph Coop" four times and never "Cooper", so the hesitation recorded here was right.
