NJSA Early Land Records — F-2 (EJ) Folio 33 — Reziah Runyon (Piscataway, yeoman) → Daniel Cooper (Weaver, of Hunterdon Co.): Runyon resigns his undivided half (moiety) of Lot No. 2 on the Passaic River, Hunterdon Co. Deed dated 20 June 1735, acknowledged 14 Aug 1740, recorded 1 April 1742. Recites the 10 Nov 1733 joint purchase of Lot No. 2 by Daniel Cooper + Reziah Runyon from David Jamison of NYC for £293 (= the C-3 f.77/78 deeds, [K.31]). CORRECTS the prior catalog date '14 Dec 1720' — that was an NJSA-database artifact, NOT a Daniel Cooper transaction; manuscript pulled + read 2026-06-23.
Transcription and notes
DATE CORRECTION (2026-06-23) — this is NOT a 1720 record
The catalog formerly recorded K.2 (from the NJSA Early Land Records database abstract) as a "14 Dec 1720" conveyance "Reziah Runyon → Daniel Cooper," and built a " Daniel-Sr-1720-breakthrough" narrative on it: a Cooper-Runyon land tie 6 years before the 17 Apr 1726 marriage. The manuscript (pulled via NJSA Order 202606-87390, read 2026-06-23) shows that date was wrong. The deed body recites a 10 November 1733 joint purchase and is itself executed 20 June 1735, acknowledged 1740, recorded 1 April 1742. No 14 Dec 1720 date appears anywhere in the manuscript. The "1720" was an NJSA-database field artifact (it does not correspond to any Daniel Cooper transaction).
Net effect: the earliest Daniel-Cooper-Weaver-of-Hunterdon attestation is 1733 (the joint purchase, also recorded at [K.31] C-3 f.77/78), not 1720. The Cooper-Runyon joint landholding is a post-marital venture (1733, seven years after the 1726 marriage), not a pre-marital one. The Weaver trade datum survives (the manuscript calls him "Daniel Cooper… Weaver"). Downstream corrections applied to [p.1], [p.148], [p.261], [pr.63]. (Cautionary parallel to the 1868-document lesson in CLAUDE.md: a database abstract is not the manuscript.)

- Grantee: Daniel Cooper, Weaver, of Hunterdon Co.

- Recited prior transaction: Daniel Cooper + Reziah Runyon jointly purchased Lot No. 2 from David Jamison (Gent., of NYC) on 10 Nov 1733 for £293 (NY money). [= the [K.31] C-3 f.77 (9 Nov) + f.78 (10 Nov) 1733 deeds.]

Catalog significance (verbatim-relevant only; identity analysis → [p.1])
- Weaver of Hunterdon trade + residence attestation for the candidate Daniel Sr — intact, redated to 1733–1735.
- Cooper-Runyon partnership documented 1733 (joint purchase) → 1735 (Reziah sells Daniel his half). A post-marital land venture (the 1726 marriage predates it), consistent with Reziah being a Runyon kinsman of Grace ([p.148]) rather than evidence of a pre-marital arrangement.
- Edward Antill + Daniel Sutton (witnesses) and [?] Lyell (acknowledging councilman) are new network names; no Coriell/Coryell appears on this deed (the "Coriell-witness test" is negative for F-2 f.33).
