Notes (identifications → people files; not verbatim)
- First record to name a LOT of Daniel Cooper III's [p.737] estate division: confirms the division carved the estate into numbered lots (here Lot No. 3), "recorded [in] the Scott County Court office." (The division record itself — ~1850 — is still to be located; see [p.737] search recipe.)
- William D. Emison [p.1048] (= "Wm. G./D. Emison") held ½ of Lot 3 — his share via his mother Mary Ann (Cooper) Emison [p.849], a daughter of Daniel III. He sells it to the Gaineses.
- Elizabeth Gaines (= [p.850] Elizabeth (Cooper) Gaines, another Daniel-III daughter) and her husband William B. Gaines buy the Emison half of Lot 3 — consolidating the lot. ⇒ strongly implies Elizabeth's husband was "William B. Gaines" (not merely "William Gaines"), which resolves the [K.59] open question — the 1878 buyer "William B. Gaines" is most likely Elizabeth's husband/widower, not a separate relative. (Lot 3 appears jointly allotted to the Mary-Ann/Emison line + Elizabeth; the two families held it in common until this 1856 buy-out.)
