Notes (identifications → people files; not verbatim)
- Narrows Reuben H. Cooper's [p.844] death: he is alive and buying 88 ac of Cane Run land on 31 May 1861. His estate was divided 3 Jan 1862 ([K.64], widow + heirs petition) ⇒ Reuben died between 31 May 1861 and 3 Jan 1862 — i.e. Jun–Dec 1861 (tightening the "d. 1861" tree lead).
- Adjoins "Danl Cooper" on Cane Run, and lies on the Iron Works road — the same road on which son Stephen L. Cooper's allotment sits in the 1862 division [K.64] ⇒ this Cane-Run tract is plausibly among the land Reuben's estate division [K.64] then allotted to his heirs (bought May 1861, divided Jan 1862). The neighbor "Danl Cooper" is likely son Daniel [p.914] or Daniel Cooper III's [p.737] estate land (both Cane-Run Coopers).
- Reuben styled "of Scott County" here (vs. Fayette Co. in the 1850/1860 censuses) ⇒ he held / had returned to Scott Co. land by 1861.
- Clue for the Daniel-III estate hunt: a "Danl Cooper" tract on Cane Run (Iron Works road) — the locus of Daniel III's [p.737] estate division ([K.59]/[K.63] "Cane Run") — confirmed by an adjoining-boundary call.
