What this document records
✅✅ register control and the tightest of the set
CONTROL RUN 2026-09-27, AND THIS PAGE GIVES THE TIGHTEST CONTROL IN THE WHOLE SET — BOTH SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE ON THE SAME PAGE. The question: Israel Cooper and Samuel Cooper rest a two-Israels argument on the New Jersey Israel signing ([K.84]) while the Ohio Israel marks (here, and [K.105], [K.100]). All are register copies in a clerk's hand, so if a register normalised grantors to marks the marks would be worth nothing. Page 36 settles it by itself. At the head of the page the Robert Gier mortgage closes with Robert Gier (Seal) — the name written out, crop-verified at 3×. Lower on the very same page, this quitclaim closes with Israel his X mark Cooper (Seal) — the full mark formula, crop-verified at 3×. One page, one clerk, one sitting: a signature rendered as a name and a mark rendered as a mark. Page 37 adds Joseph McCutchen and Letitia McCutchen both signing — so the register also declines to mark a married woman merely because she is one, which is the counterpart to Charlotte Parker, Mary Baughman and Polly Berry marking elsewhere in the set. ⇒ This register preserves the distinction, so Israel's mark here is a real reading. [K.97] is the facing image of the same book and is covered by the same control. This is the fifth and last of five registers to pass — the full set is tabulated at [K.105].
