Scanned openings

1719; 1721-1724; 1727-1729; title page

In scope

the 5 Elias Van Court x Anne Cooper baptisms (list:); manuscript-verifies the F.67 Gangaware typescript, incl. Daniel Cooper Sr as the 1719 sponsor

Other baptisms present

the openings also carry non-Van-Court baptisms not enumerated here (a Magdalena of 'Hans ?elder & Maria' beside 1724 Daniel; a 1728 'David Koriell x Elsie -> Agnietje' flagged for pr.16). Un-scanned openings 1725-26 / 1730-31 / 1733-34 (holding Van Court's Agnes 1726 / twins 1730 / John 1734) still to be requested via pr.88.

Transcription and notes

The original-manuscriptregister pages for the Van Court children's baptisms, obtained 2026-06 from the Archives of the Reformed Church in America (RCA)(archivist Dr. Elizabeth Pallitto) in answer to pr.88. This is the primary-source manuscriptbehind the F.67 entry, which transcribes the same baptisms from the Beulah Gangaware typescript. Read at 300-DPI render + tight crops 2026-06-23; all five scanned entries confirm F.67 at manuscript grade.

Verbatim — the five Van Court baptisms in these scans

Date Child (kindernaem) Parents (ouders) Witnesses (getuigen)
1719(Jul) Elyas "Lias van Koort / En Enni sijn vrou" Daniel Korper/Korpus[= Daniel Cooper Sr] · Abiegel Sebring
8 Julii 1722 Jannetje "Elias van Coort / Anna sijn vrouw" Hans Sebring(with an insertion caret)
(May) 1724 Daniel "Elias van Coert / Annatje" — (none; dash)
17 Septb 1727 Jannetje[#2] "Elias van Coert / Annetje" — (none; dash)
6 April 1729 Thomas[#2] "Elias van Coort / Henna" — (none)

(The register's surname renderings vary: van Koort / van Coort / van Coert. The mother is given by first name only — Enni / Anna / Annatje / Annetje / Henna — in every entry.)

Findings (source-internal verification)

  1. Manuscript-confirms F.67's readingsfor all five entries, including the witness names. (My initial "Sedering" for 1722 corrects to F.67's "Sebring.")
  2. Daniel "Korper/Korpus" (= Daniel Cooper Sr) as the 1719 sponsor is verified on the original page— the strongest Cooper↔Van Court kinship signal, now at manuscript grade (cf. A.12 sister-of-Daniel hypothesis).
  3. The "no witnesses" entries (1724, 1727, 1729) genuinely have no getuigen(verified dashes) — not a typescript omission.
  4. No additional/missed Van Court child:the "Magdalena" baptized "dito" beside 1724 Daniel belongs to a different family("Hans ?elder & Maria").
  5. Does NOT advance the maiden-surname "B" question(A.68/[p.3]): Anne never appears with a maiden surname here.
  6. The Sebring co-sponsors are NOT a hidden Cooper/Van Court sibling(resolved 2026-06-23): the question "is Abigail Sebring an Elias-sister or a Cooper-by-birth?" is answered by Sebring Collections (W.W. Sebring p.70) — Abigail was the daughter of Johannes Sebring × Aeltje Leffertse(named for grandmother Abigail Leffertse), and the 1722 witnesses were Johannes "Hans" Sebring + wife Aeltje. The Sebrings were a close Raritan-congregation ally (they also witnessed Elias's 1750 will, A.12) but are outside the Cooper/Van Court bloodlines. So the onlyCooper-family sponsor in the register is Daniel Sr himself(the brother); the baptisms surface no additional Cooper sibling.

2026-06-26 — full read of the multi-page PDFs (not just the 5 Van Court entries)

Each shared PDF is 2 PDF pages × a 2-page register opening, so they cover more than their filename years. Read in full 2026-06-26 (pr.88 lead #2): - 1722 and 1723… PDF = openings spanning 1721→1724(Van Court: 1722 Jannetje + 1724 Daniel; ends late 1724). - 1727 and 1728… PDF = openings spanning 1727→1729(Van Court: 1727 Jannetje + 1729 Thomas; ends ~Dec 1729). - No additional/un-cataloged Van Court childappears on any opening → the 5-entry table above is complete for the scanned range. The Van Courts baptized at Raritan continuously every ~2 yrs → the missing Agnes 1726 / twins 1730 / John 1734sit on the un-scanned openings 1725–26, 1730–31, 1733–34(request via [pr.88]). - Coriell sighting (flag for [pr.16], needs verification):the 1728 left opening of the 1727–28 PDF shows a baptism "David Koriell / Elsie → dau. Agnietje" (1728) — earlier than the David Coryell entries [F.67] §2 dated 1741–45 (which also list a David × Elsie). Pushes David Coryell's Raritan presence back to ~1728 if confirmed. Not a Van Court matter; noted in passing.
