Searched for: THE 1940 CENSUS OF THIS HOUSEHOLD, approached four ways in Ancestry coll. 2442 because at 11 and 14 neither daughter has an identity of her own in the index - the gap is their father's household. (a) ?name=John_Cooper&birth=1901&birth_x=1-0-0&name_x=1_1&residence=_texas-usa_46&residence_x=1-0-0_1-0 - exact given AND surname, bounded to Texas: 8 rows, ALL READ. (b) ?name=Juanita_Cooper&birth=1928&birth_x=1-0-0&name_x=1_1 bounded to Texas: 1 row. (c) the same NATIONWIDE: 19 rows, ALL READ. (d) ?name=Elsie_Cooper&birth=1925&birth_x=1-0-0&name_x=1_1 nationwide: 17 rows, ALL READ.
Result: NULL FROM ALL FOUR. None of the 8 Texas John Coopers born 1901 has daughters of these names; the single Texas Juanita Cooper is a daughter of William D. and Edith Beatrice at Sherman, Grayson Co.; none of the 19 Juanitas or 17 Elsies nationwide has a father John born 1901 or a sister of the other name. THE GIVEN NAMES WERE THE STRONG CARD AND THEY FAILED. Juanita and Elsie are both uncommon enough that a nationwide exact search returns fewer than 20 rows, so this is not a common-name problem - the household is simply not in the index under these names. SEE Egbert Arthur Cooper FOR THE PATTERN: this is the FOURTH branch of the Egbert Arthur Cooper family to come back null from a census index, and the note there gathers them.
